Coach — Privacy Policy

Coach is a personal wellness and fitness app. It helps you understand your training and recovery. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. Nothing in Coach is medical advice — always consult a qualified professional for health decisions.

This policy explains what data Coach uses, why, who processes it, and the choices you have. Coach is operated by an individual developer ("we", "us"). If you have questions, contact us at the email at the end of this policy.

1. Who this policy covers

It covers the Coach iOS app and its backend services. Coach is intended for adults using it for their own personal wellness. It is not directed at children.

2. The data Coach uses

Account & identity

Your sign-in identity via Apple Sign-In or email, used only to create and secure your account.

Health & fitness data

Coach reads health and fitness data only with your explicit permission, from sources you choose to connect:

Apple Health (HealthKit) — e.g. heart rate, workouts, sleep, mindfulness, activity and body measurements, used to read your training and recovery.
Oura (if you connect it) — sleep, readiness and heart-rate-variability signals, via an access token you provide.
Peloton (if you connect it) — your workout and class performance data.
Data you enter — check-ins, journal notes, workout logs, goals and profile details.

Usage data

Basic technical and usage information needed to operate the app (e.g. counts of AI requests, for reliability and cost control). Coach does not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.

3. How Coach uses your data

To generate your personalised coaching — readiness reads, session guidance, and reflections.
To show your trends and history in the app.
To keep the service secure and working reliably.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your health data for advertising or marketing.

4. AI processing (important)

Coach generates its coaching using a third-party AI model provided by Anthropic (Claude). To produce a reply, relevant context — such as your recent training summary, readiness signals and your message — is sent to Anthropic's API through our secure server, which authenticates the request. This is processing on our behalf to deliver the app's core function. Data sent through Anthropic's API is not used to train their models under their standard commercial API terms. 5. Who processes your data

Anthropic — AI processing to generate coaching (as above).
Supabase — secure database and authentication hosting where your account and entries are stored.
Apple, Oura, Peloton — sources you connect; Coach reads from them with your permission. Their own privacy policies govern their services.

6. Storage, security & retention

Your data is stored in your own account, protected by per-user access rules so only you (via your sign-in) can read it.
Data is retained while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time (see below).

7. Your choices & rights

Permissions — you control Health, Oura and Peloton access, and can revoke them in iOS Settings / the app at any time.
Access & deletion — you can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and data by emailing us.

8. Apple Health data

In line with Apple's requirements: information read from HealthKit is used only to provide Coach's health and fitness features. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with third parties for their own purposes.

9. Children

Coach is not intended for anyone under 17 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
